The Cockroft-Gault Equation estimates the glomerular filtration rate (eGFR) or creatinine clearance. It relies on the stability of the serum creatinine concentration. Weight is the estimated lean body weight.

You must give information about all four criteria - sex, age (18 years or over) creatinine and weight - in order to estimate glomerular filtration rate / creatinine clearance using the Cockroft-Gault equation.
